High Elevation Grass Seed Mix

Trees for Mt. Lemmon provides HIGH ELEVATION native grass seed mix for residents/property owners to aid in erosion control and provide ground cover.  The seed mix was purchased from Wildlands Restoration in Tucson and includes 10  different species native to our SKY ISLAND and high country of ARIZONA from approximately 5500-9000' in elevation.  Germination may occur during late winter and spring seasons, depending on elevation and weather.  The main growing season occurs during high summer.  If seed is planted in early summer, a broad germination and establishment can be expected from the first two inches of rain during summer storms.

PREPARATION:  loosen soil/rocky areas with hard rake or other mechanical device.  After spreading seed, rake lightly to cover seed to ideal depth of 1/4 to 1/2".  If possible, and if you have irrigation at the site, time watering to coincide with moist, low pressure fronts which will ensure widespread germination and establishment, as well as prolonged flowering and seed production.

COVERAGE:  1 lb. per 1000 sq. ft.
